This 50 foot long by 4 foot tall commission by Wells Fargo is located Downtown Miami and was managed by Perkins & Will, a New York City–based architectural services firm. The agency provided the project parameters, including the floor plan, material palette, and mood boards, which guided the overall vision for the space.
I developed a custom color palette and conceptual design based on the agency’s presentation, ensuring alignment with both the client’s expectations and the architectural context of the office. Over the course of three months, I worked closely with Perkins & Will and Wells Fargo to refine the concept through extensive digital illustrations and iterative feedback.
The mural’s design is abstract, yet incorporates hidden shapes that celebrate Miami’s architectural and cultural landmarks. Subtle references include Mac’s Club Deuce, Zaha Hadid’s site-specific installation Elastika in the Miami Design District, the 1111 Parking Garage in Miami Beach, the Cape Florida Lighthouse in Key Biscayne, The Colony Hotel in Miami Beach, and other notable sites. The artwork employs seven custom-matched colors, with layered halftone patterns.
Production of the mural took approximately one week, during which I collaborated closely with the Chief Engineer, Technical Coordinator, Wells Fargo Corporate Heritage Team, and the Lead Construction Manager.
Many thanks to Ricardo Garcia and Brian Lacey for their support in coordinating and bringing this exciting project to life.
